PIANOMANIA: Nominations, Awards, and Prizes!

PIANOMANIA has been theatrically distributed in more than 20 countries! We are very proud of its run and would like to again thank everybody involved in the project!

PIANOMANIA won the LOLA for Best Sound at the German Film Awards.  The film also received the 2010 Golden Gate Award for ‘Best Documentary’ at the 53rd International Film Festival in San Francisco.

Our film also won the Audience Award for ‘Best Documentary’ at the 36th International Filmweekend in Würzburg, and was rewarded with an Honourable Mention diploma at the EURODOK film festival held by the Norwegian film institute in Oslo.

In November 2009, Pianomania received ‘a Lüdia’, the first prize at the 20th Cinema Festival in Lünen, Germany.

In the same year, it was awarded the prize for ‘Best Editing’ at the Diagonale Graz in Austria. In addition, our documentary was chosen as the ‘Semaine de la critique’ in its section at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Recently, Pianomania was nominated by the European Film Academy for its 22nd European Film Prize.
The Film Evaluation Committee in Wiesbaden, the official body for certifying the artistic, documentary and historical quality of films in Germany, awarded Pianomania the rating ‘Highly Recommended’.  This is the announcement of the jury.
